Fibre-wireless performance

Within the framework of WORTECS (Wireless Optical/Radio Terabit Communications) - a European collaborative project - Orange Labs in France has demonstrated optical wireless communication at 1.16 terabits per second. This is the first such bidirectional solid-state demonstration, thereby setting a new world record. Beyond the record itself, the same wireless device boasts photon transmission speeds from 1 Gbps (109 bit/s) to 1 Tbps.
