The 3GPP: an inside look into how the networks of the future are created

In 1998, the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) was established with the unique aim of creating the technical specifications for a 3rd generation mobile system. By pooling together the resources of 7 regional standardisation organisations (including the ETSI in Europe), the initiative has become integral to preconfiguring and designing the new generations of mobile networks.
