Moving toward more sustainable maritime transport
Among other things, the COVID-19 pandemic caused an increase in the cost and delivery times of maritime transport. This is particularly important since, according to the UN, more than 80% of the volume of goods traded globally is transported over the sea in container ships. Experiments conducted by Orange Innovation over several years, in partnership with ports, highlight the importance of the environmental issues that ports face and how better sharing of digital data between stakeholders can play a role in this large ecosystem.
