Since the release of ChatGPT by OpenAI at the end of 2022, the field of conversational agents has penetrated the mass audience (discussions in the media, at work, at school with the family, etc.). This popularity boom marks a new step in the long epic journey towards an artificial intelligence capable of conversing with us (see timeline). This article goes back to the essence of the dialogue task and tries to see more clearly the limits that ChatGPT is still facing on this task.
