We kicked off with Bruno Zerbib’s opening keynote (video available here), which set the stage for Orange’s ambition to drive real and shared progress through innovation.
One partnership with École Polytechnique and a second with Climate Impulse
Day 1: Innovations for Daily Life
On the first day, I found out about innovations that seamlessly integrate into daily life, helping us at home. For example, Fiber Detection (video available here) can be used to detect water leaks and environmental incidents through an intelligent fiber network. The Livebox Store LiveMeter demo (video available here) showed how Livebox allows us to optimize our energy consumption at home. I also attended a live satellite messaging test (video available here). I’ll be able to go hiking in the mountains more often now, thanks to Satellite Message — hurrah! I finished the first day learning that quantum AI is available for cybersecurity: Live Photonic Quantum provides very smart and effective malware detection, a major step forward for tomorrow’s cybersecurity. What a great first day!
Day 2: Security and Inclusion Technology
My second day at Orange OpenTech centered around technology for security and inclusion. Several innovation projects focus on developing a more secure world that is accessible to all. For example, with Orange Max It Easy Talk (video available here), you can access a wide range of services using just your voice, regardless of your language or location — a real game-changer! Meanwhile, Live Recognition (video available here) helps fight fraud faster and more thoroughly. Thanks again to AI, which helps eliminate fraud by comparing an identity photo with the customer’s face in real time.
I also attended some passionate discussions about the future of agentic AI and tech — you’re not ready for this! Okay, spoiler alert, research and scientific excellence play—and will play—a fundamental role in creating value… watch this space!
I ended on a high note with the Hello Women event, which showcased diversity in the tech industry and gave women the spotlight in a field that’s still predominantly male. A day of discovery and full of meaning.
Day 3: Networks of the Future
I rounded off this excellent event with a third day dedicated to the innovations of the future and their impact on the companies and networks of tomorrow. I learned that an AI-assisted augmented-reality digital twin could help maintain networks (Hello LiveField, see this video!). LiveMemo (video available here) provides an AI assistant that saves me doing time-consuming administrative tasks, allowing me to focus on actions with higher added value — not that I have many at the moment, but I’ll keep it in mind for later!
This final day was also the day of the Orange Network APIs Hackathon, culminating in the presentation of innovative solutions for the networks of tomorrow.
I attended the announcement of two partnerships, and they’re not insignificant… drum roll, please! The first is with the Ecole Polytechnique to strengthen digital sovereignty, and the second is with Climate Impulse to develop the first emission-free non-stop flight around the world! Enthusiastic commitment follows here… To top off the developments of tomorrow, I learned that the quantum revolution is here and will be a key driver in shaping the future.
In short, these three intense days demonstrated how Orange is unlocking the value of innovation by building trusted digital solutions. Looking forward to the next edition already!
