Deployment speed and management agility are at the heart of the expectations of companies’ IT departments, who need “smarter” and more flexible telecom networks to accompany and amplify their digital transformation. A key issue on which Claudine Le Mercier, a telecoms and networks engineer and integration/validation manager at Orange Labs Lannion (Côtes d’Armor, France), is working, namely within the framework of the Easy Go Network offer.
Based on Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) technologies that are evolving connectivity towards a smart and flexible network, Easy Go Network is an Orange Business Services (OBS) offer for businesses who require networks that are agile, programmable on demand, and flexible.
Indeed, Easy Go Network enables the fast deployment of a virtual private network (VPN), using local internet access and without any physical intervention thanks to a router that automatically connects securely to the Orange Business Services SDN network via the local internet access. Once the network has been deployed, the company can operate and configure the various virtual application services itself.
At Orange, the project is managed in an agile manner, in terms of both methods and tools, which enables the speeding-up of project completion, approves Claudine Le Mercier, who has been working for Orange since 2004.
